    Elegant Old Akan Memorial Head African Shrine Object
    Up for sale is this beautiful original Akan Memorial Head.
    A Fine old terracotta head which was used traditionally as a memorial portrait (nsodie) of an Akan ruler from southern Ghana or southeastern Côte d'Ivoire. It is an idealized representation whose serene expression, well-balanced features, and striated neck suggest the qualities that great rulers are expected to embody.
